The working mode of measuring temperature through Temperature sensor PT100 thermal resistance WZP2-006 is based on the principle that the resistance of metal changes with temperature. When the temperature changes, the electrical resistance of the metal also changes. In RTDs, platinum is often used as a material because of its stable and predictable resistance-temperature relationship.

The Temperature sensor PT100 thermal resistance WZP2-006 is connected to a Wheatstone bridge circuit consisting of four resistor arms, one of which contains the thermal resistor. Apply a constant current to the bridge circuit and measure the voltage across the thermal resistor. The measured voltage is proportional to the resistance of the thermal resistance, which in turn is proportional to the measured temperature.

 

In order to obtain accurate temperature measurements, the resistance of the leads connecting the thermal resistor to the measuring instrument must be compensated for. This is achieved by using the wire measurement technique, where the resistance of the wire is measured and subtracted from the total resistance of the circuit.
