The Field Control Processor FCP270 supports both 2 Mbps or 268 Kbps HDLC fieldbus and FBI200 or FBI100, allowing connection to 200 series and 100 series FBMs (affecting the total number of FBMs of each type supported). If two control modules are used at the same time in the field, their unique and patented fault tolerant operation greatly improves the reliability compared with other process controllers. In addition, the controller FCP270 uses multi-function control algorithms and various FBMs to provide control functions for a wide range of process applications.
