OPC solenoid valves are overspeed protection control solenoid valves, which are controlled by the OPC part of the DEH controller. In normal operation, these two solenoid valves are non-charged and normally closed, which closes the oil discharge channel of the OPC main pipe, so that the lower chamber of the actuator piston of the regulating steam valve and the reheat regulating steam valve can build up oil pressure.

When the OPC control board is operating, for example, when the speed reaches 103% of the rated speed, the two solenoid valves are excited (energized) to open to discharge the OPC mother pipe oil. In this way, the unloading valve on the corresponding actuator is opened quickly, so that the regulating steam valve and the reheat regulating steam valve are quickly closed.
