Servo valve J761-003A is mainly used as an actuator in electrical hydraulic servo systems (see Hydraulic Servo Systems). In servo systems, hydraulic actuators, compared with electrical and pneumatic actuators, have the characteristics of good speed, high output power per unit weight, stable transmission, and strong anti-interference ability. On the other hand, electrical components are often used when transmitting signals and correcting characteristics in servo systems.

The  servo valve J761-003A mainly refers to the electro-hydraulic servo valve, which outputs modulated flow and pressure after receiving electrical analog signals. It is not only an electro-hydraulic conversion component, but also a power amplifier component. It can convert small and weak electrical input signals into high-power hydraulic energy (flow and pressure) output. In an electro-hydraulic servo system, it connects the electrical and hydraulic parts to achieve the conversion of electro-hydraulic signals and hydraulic amplification. The electro-hydraulic servo valve is the core of the control of the electro-hydraulic servo system.

The servo valve J761-003A is usually composed of three major parts: an electro-mechanical converter, a hydraulic amplifier (pilot stage valve and power stage main valve), and a feedback mechanism (or balance mechanism). The function of an electromechanical converter is to convert the electrical energy of the input electrical signal into mechanical energy for mechanical motion, and then drive the control components of the hydraulic amplifier to convert it into hydraulic energy.
