Due to the fact that check valve 216C50 is qualitatively determined to be used for quick closure in most practical applications, the medium flows in the direction at the moment of closure of the check valve. As the valve disc closes, the maximum backflow velocity of the medium rapidly decreases to zero, while the pressure rapidly increases, resulting in a "water hammer" phenomenon that may have a destructive effect on the pipeline system.
