Air pressure is the atmospheric pressure acting on a unit area, which is equal to the weight of a vertical column of air extending upwards to the upper limit of the atmosphere per unit area. All barometers used in meteorology should be calibrated in hPa increments. Under standard conditions, a pressure of 760mmHg is equal to 1032.25hPa.

The QA-1 air pressure sensor adopts a foreign piezoresistive sensor chip package, which is precisely temperature compensated and has the characteristics of high precision and high sensitivity. It can be applied to the measurement of air pressure and altitude, and is a supporting product of automatic weather stations.

The principle of a piezoresistive pressure sensor is that atmospheric pressure acts on a sensitive element covered with an evacuated small box, and through its resistance, it is subjected to compressive or tensile stress. Due to the piezoelectric effect, the change in resistance value is proportional to atmospheric pressure.
