The high-voltage current-limiting fuse XRNP1 can effectively deal with the impact of the system short-circuit current rise rate on equipment safety through its matching design of current limiting characteristics and Joule integral. When a short-circuit fault occurs, the rise rate of the system short-circuit current directly affects the action speed and energy absorption capacity of the fuse, while the Joule integral of the fuse determines the amount of thermal energy accumulated before it cuts off the circuit. XRNP1 optimizes the structure and material properties to form a dynamic balance between the Joule integral and the short-circuit current rise rate, thereby ensuring the reliability of the protection performance.
The fuse XRNP1 uses high-purity quartz sand as the arc extinguishing medium and is sealed in a high-strength alumina melting tube. When the short-circuit current hits the fuse at a rapid rise rate, the fuse quickly melts before the current reaches its peak. The current limiting effect of the quartz sand greatly suppresses the arc energy and shortens the duration of the fault current. This process significantly reduces the Joule integral actually borne inside the fuse, making it much lower than the theoretical value of the non-current-limiting fuse, thereby avoiding damage to the melting tube or contact parts due to excessive heat accumulation.
During the selection process, the upper limit of the Joule integral of the fuse needs to be evaluated based on the rise rate characteristics of the system short-circuit current. For scenarios with a high short-circuit current rise rate, such as a large-capacity power system or a fault point close to the power supply end, the Joule integral of the fuse must be strictly controlled within the tolerance range of the equipment. XRNP1 compresses the actual I²t value to 10%~20% of the theoretical value through current limiting design, ensuring that the circuit can be quickly disconnected under extreme short-circuit conditions while reducing the thermal stress shock to the protected equipment. Its plug-in structure and standardized configuration of breaking capacity further simplify the selection process of matching the Joule integral of the fuse according to system parameters.
